SAIS Grad Fair: Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024; Time: 10am - 7pm
Graduation: Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at 11:00 AM, DAR Constitution Hall
Regalia or military dress is required for all graduates participating in the ceremony.
Cap & Gown Distribution:
Caps and gowns will be shipped directly to JHU SAIS in DC and will be available for pickup during the Grad Fair event on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, unless you opt to have regalia shipped to home at an additional cost.
All students who are walking in the graduation ceremony must pick up their caps and gowns at this time. If you did not order your regalia by the deadline of Friday, March 15th, the final opportunity to do so will be during the Grad Fair distribution.
Students will also have the opportunity to pick up commencement tickets during distribution. Tickets are free of charge and are required for guests’ entry into the ceremony.
Doctoral Students:
There are two options to consider: 1) Purchase Doctoral Regalia or 2) Rent Regalia.
The deadline to purchase will be Monday, March 18, 2024, using this webpage. This allows the needed time for production and delivery of the fine quality regalia ahead of the ceremony date. Custom regalia will be shipped to your desired home address.

Renting regalia will follow the same deadline of Friday, March 15th, with the final opportunity to do so at the Grad Fair Event. All rented regalia must be returned in full (gown, hood and tam) following the ceremony attended. All rental items are coded for verification. Failure to return the regalia to the SAIS Commencement Team by Friday, May 24th, will result in a $900 charge.
